Lamberto Andreotti has been elected president and chief operating officer, and a member of Bristol-Myers Squibb’s board of directors.

Mr. Andreotti will continue to have leadership responsibility for global pharmaceuticals, technical operations and global marketing, in addition to oversight of information management worldwide. He will continue to report to James M. Cornelius, chairman and chief executive officer.

“Lamberto’s leadership has been an integral part of our recent global commercial success, and of our transformation to a global BioPharma leader,” said Mr. Cornelius.

Mr. Andreotti has been with the company for 11 years. He served as corporate senior vice president and international president of the Worldwide Medicines Group from 2002-2005, and from 2005-2007, he served as executive vice president of Worldwide Pharmaceuticals. In May 2007, he was named executive vice president and chief operating officer.

The company also made organizational changes related to its strategic biopharmaceutical focus. Mr. Andreotti, Elliott Sigal, and Jean-Marc Huet will join Mr. Cornelius on the company’s newly formed executive committee.

Dr. Sigal, the company’s executive vice president, chief scientific officer and president, R&D, oversees the company’s research, discovery, and development functions. Mr. Huet has been promoted to executive vice president and chief financial officer. He will also oversee the areas of strategy and productivity in addition to finance.

“This group will chart the future for Bristol-Myers Squibb,” said Mr. Cornelius. “Our transformation over the past 15 months has been swift and seamless, and we will continue to move forward as a company purely focused on helping patients prevail against serious disease.”

Additional changes include: Anthony Hooper has been named president, Americas; Beatrice Cazala has been named president, Global Commercialization, and president, Europe; John Celentano has been named president, Emerging Markets and Asia-Pacific; Carlo De Notaristefani has been named president, Technical Operations and Global Support Functions; and Giovanni Caforio has been named senior vice president, Global and U.S. Oncology.
